Indirect Ways to Still Use Your Insurance
We know insurance is expensive, so we work with you to make the most of it.
Even though we are a private pay clinic, you can still use your insurance benefits. Many of our patients use out-of-network coverage, apply visits toward their deductible, or pay with HSA/FSA funds.
We are experienced in coding according to insurance rules, and after each session, we will email you a detailed Superbill (basically an itemized receipt). The Superbill includes the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurance company needs to evaluate your claim. Depending on your plan, you may receive partial or full reimbursement for psychiatric services, or be able to apply the paid amount to your annual deductible.
Plus, to help get your prescriptions covered, we handle and submit all medication prior authorizations completely free of charge.

Service Pricing
We believe in clear, transparent pricing so you always know what to expect. We accept Zelle (our preferred method), Venmo, credit and debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. Kindly note that payment is due at the time of service.
Psychiatric Evaluation:
$550 for up to 60 minutes (in-person or virtual)
All of our services begin with an initial psychiatric evaluation (except ADHD coaching).
The psychiatric evaluation involves a thorough review of your medical and mental health history as well as getting to know each other. Together, we'll formulate a working diagnosis and create an individualized treatment plan which may or may not include medication or further testing.
Extended Psychiatric Evaluation:
$750 for up to 90 minutes (in-person or virtual)
For complex cases and presentations (including complex diagnostic profiles, treatment-resistant conditions, or comprehensive medication reviews) we recommend an Extended Psychiatric Evaluation. These sessions typically last up to 90 minutes to ensure a thorough assessment of your history and symptoms.
ADHD Testing:
Conducted in 3 Parts ($1,075 Total)
$550 for Psychiatric Evaluation (virtual or in-person)
$250 for QbCheck test itself (virtual)
$275 for interpretation visit (in-person or virtual)
QbCheck ADHD testing is an objective, FDA-approved psychometric test available by provider referral for patients ages 6-60 years old. It helps diagnose ADHD as well as evaluate the efficacy of treatment.
Kindly note that an initial psychiatric evaluation must first be completed to establish care and determine if a referral for QbCheck testing is medically appropriate.
Autism Testing: (NEW)
Conducted in 3 Parts ($1,500 Total)
Psychiatric Evaluation: ($550)
Assessment Battery ($475): The cost of the digital assessments (administered via our secure partner, NovoPsych) as well as provider time spent analyzing the results and drafting your comprehensive report.
Feedback & Treatment Planning ($475): Your provider will share your results, provide clinical feedback, and collaborate with you on a personalized treatment plan.
Kindly note that an initial psychiatric evaluation must first be completed to establish care and determine if a referral for Autism testing is medically appropriate.
AuDHD Testing: (NEW)
Dual testing for both ADHD and Autism. Conducted in 4 Parts ($1,750 Total)

QbCheck Testing ($250):
QbCheck ADHD testing is an objective, FDA-approved psychometric test available by provider referral for patients ages 6-60 years old. It helps diagnose ADHD as well as evaluate the efficacy of treatment.

Specialist prescribing focused on what works for your body and lifestyle, not one-size-fits-all approaches. We adjust and collaborate with you to find what actually helps.
(This fee also includes your provider's time spent preparing for your visit, documenting your care, and managing tasks like ordering medications.)
ADHD Coaching:
New Client Intake: $250 for 60 minutes (virtual)
Individual: $175 for 60 minutes (virtual)
Couples: $250 for 60 minutes (virtual)
Family: $250 for 60 minutes (virtual)
Group: $100 for 60 minutes (virtual)
We offer personalized ADHD coaching for individuals, groups, couples, and families. Build habits that actually stick, strengthen time management and organization skills, and feel more confident and in control of your day-to-day life.
Coaching services are provided through a partnership with an independent business and are not considered licensed mental health services. Because coaching is not classified as a licensed healthcare service, HSA/FSA funds cannot be used to pay for these sessions.
Genetic Testing Interpretation:
$275 for the interpretation visit with your provider (in-person or virutal)
This visit helps you understand your unique genetic makeup and get individualized medication recommendations, ending the guessing game of what might work for your body. The test itself is billed separately through Genomind.

Forms/Letters:
Brief documentation: $75-$175
Complex documentation: Appointment required ($200-$275)
To allow adequate time for review and completion, requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance.
Missed Appointments:
As many people struggle to find care, it is crucial to give us at least 48 hours' notice if you are unable to make your appointment so your slot can be given to someone else in need.
Missed appointments are $150.
Other Potential Costs
As part of your care, there may be costs from (optional) services or products recommended outside of Edwards Psychiatry such as genetic testing, lab testing, prescriptions, or supplements.

Lab Testing
We partner with Rupa Health, Quest Diagnostics, and LabCorp to order laboratory testing. All labs are
self-pay, and pricing varies based on the specific tests ordered. You’ll receive a cost estimate in advance, and you always have the option to complete labs elsewhere if you prefer.
The Real Cost of Quality Mental Health Care
Affordability in mental health care includes both what you pay and what you receive.
With out-of-network reimbursement, private pay often costs less than expected. For example, if your insurance reimburses 60% of our $250 medication management session, your cost is $100. That is similar to many copays, with a higher level of care.
Waiting often costs more in the long run. Missed work, strained relationships, and ineffective treatment add up. Many clients tell us they wish they had started sooner.

Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost before starting services. Under federal law (the No Surprises Act), health care providers must give uninsured or self-pay patients an estimate of expected charges.
We're transparent about all costs from day one, and questions about prices are always welcome.
Per your rights as a self-pay patient under the No Surprises Act, if your final financial responsibility exceeds our estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the charges. For more information,

Being private-pay allows us to spend more time with you, keep your information truly private, and focus on what you need (not what insurance companies approve).
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt with medical diagnostic and procedure codes that you submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. After each session you can download it from our patient portal and submit it to your insurance company.
How much will insurance reimburse me?
Depends on your plan. Most out-of-network plans reimburse 50-80% of their "allowed amount" after you meet your deductible.

How much does ADHD testing cost?
Our ADHD testing is conducted in three parts:
Part I: Psychiatric Evaluation: $500 (initial intake evaluation)
Part II: QbCheck ADHD Test: $250 (computer-based performance test completed at home)
Part III: Interpretation/Treatment Planning: $250 (results review and final recommendations)
Total: $1,000
What's the difference between the psychiatric evaluation and ADHD testing?
The psychiatric evaluation is where we explore more broadly your medical and mental health background. We need to establish care and also want to be sure we're not missing anything prior to referring to testing.
QbCheck ADHD testing gives us objective, performance-based information to help clarify what diagnosis(es) you may qualify for.
